All Highlands Rec Basketball programs are increasingly encouraging high school students to coach our Rec youth teams. The kids love the energy and positivity these high school students bring to the program. If you are a high school student interested in coaching a team, please follow the appropriate link below.
Registering to coach is NOT a guarantee of being assigned to a team. Once REC registration closes we will determine the number of teams and coaching spots available.
Coach a Team in Grades 3-6
- Open to high school students in any grade
- You can indicate preference of age group
- Two youth coaches per team. You can choose your co-coach or one will be assigned to you
- Each team will have a parent "team manager" to assist with administrative responsibilities
- Coaching is a commitment to your team - this must be your priority activity for the winter season
- If you are playing HS basketball we will do our best to avoid scheduling conflicts
- You will receive a stipend at the end of season commensurate with experience and performance
Coach a 7/8 Grade Team
- You must be a HS junior or senior
- Two youth coaches per team. You can choose your co-coach or one will be assigned to you
- Each team will have a parent "team manager" to assist with administrative responsibilities
- Coaching is a commitment to your team - this must be your priority activity for the winter season
- If you are playing HS basketball we will do our best to avoid scheduling conflicts
- You will receive a stipend at the end of season commensurate with experience and performance
